There are different ways you can earn money with Amazon and I will outline 5 tips to start making money today from Amazon.
Why would you want to choose to make money on Amazon?
The reality is Amazon is one of THE biggest if not biggest online retailer possibly in the World!
In the UK Amazon is now planning to open a Brick and Mortar shop in London.
So they are now going to compete with other stores like Walmart for instance.

How can you actually make money on Amazon?
Here are five very different ways to make money on Amazon.
I have successfully made money using two of these methods.
( Confession time I didn’t make lots of cash with selling things which were mainly my old books but I did make a few pounds to add to my saving fund and I have just started earning with Affiliate links which can be quite hard to do! )
This post will outline 5 tips to start making money on Amazon.
1. Selling things
As I have said making money selling your old books is still a great place to start just look at the number of second-hand options there are for books.
For me, Craft books do really well if they are already popular ones so if you want to sell those some of them are old editions that are still for sale as new for example
I love Kaffe Fassett so have a look at this one they are selling lots of new and used books what you want to look for is popular ones that haven’t too many USED ones for sale.
This is how to start selling with things that are popular on Amazon and that you are interested in like Crafty stuff.
Let’s look at Jewelry as a topic
If you have books to sell make sure they are popular you can see on Amazon before you sell them whether or not they will sell.

Look at the top book on this list below
There are only 10 used books for sale over $10 which would be a good one to sell.
Here is another example
The difference with this one is there are lots of second-hand books for sale and the cheapest one is less than $4 so maybe not so great to try and sell.
If you have books at home that won’t make a lot of money ie. they are on for 1c is it worth selling it? Probably not go for books that you may make some money with because you will still have the packaging and posting and listing time to take into account as well.
If you want to sell your second-hand books THE best way is to make sure you sell your book for the lowest price as I have outlined above – WHY?
If you do this you will feature on the buy box – the price is the lowest the reason its different to the price on the listing is that it also includes postage.
Another way to check if your book will sell is the Amazon Bestseller list.
See this image below the book that is listed top has an Amazon bestseller list of #259,423.
I suggest you stick to books that are under this figure even below 200,000 to give you the best chance of selling your books.
Selling your own books will give you a great way into selling on Amazon to get to grips with the platform and find out a bit more about what things are going to sell well.

2. Writing a book
Every fancied writing a book – yep I fancied this one too but decided I would start a website instead as it seemed super daunting writing a humungous book!

3. Affiliate Marketing
As with any Affiliate Marketing, you need to have a strategy to be successful with adding your links for affiliate marketing.
Amazon is such a large marketplace that you can add links to lots of different things.
Here are the commissions for different categories.
I suggest you join the US Amazon affiliates program even if you are in another country as you can then use lots of different add-ons to add links like ONELINK.
You can also add Native Ads which are banner type ads to your website too.
When you sign up as an affiliate you are given 180 days to have 3 uniques sales on your account for it to remain open.
I did not have 3 sales on my first account which was an absolute pain because once they shut you down that is it!
If you find you are shut down because you haven’t made any sales don’t worry you can reapply straight away for a new account.
Once you have a new account set up you will have a different affiliate link for products so it will mean going through all your old links and adding new links to the same products.
4. Handmade on Amazon- sell your crafty stuff or designs
Amazon now has Amazon Handmade to showcase artisans handmade items.
How does it differ from Etsy and eBay – they vet each producer to ensure that their crafts are genuinely handmade.
One good thing about Amazon handmade is the only fee’s that apply are when you sell your items.
You can also use FBA ( fulfilled by Amazon as well) and selling right across the US.
5. Amazon Services
If you have a skill how about selling your services via Amazon?
House cleaners, handyman, and more can sell their services via the Amazon App.

Amazon will take 15-20% commision if you are successful with finding work.
