What should you send them?
You don’t want all your emails to look the same.
The ultimate aim of your email is to send out value-packed emails along with some selling to your list NOT too much selling through or you will put off your subscribers!
USEFUL emails- that’s what you want to send.
The balance between the two is key

(If this post contains affiliate links please see our full disclosure policy although I have to say I tried really hard to make it interesting and even I struggled to write it so if you really must read it you can find it here)
How often should you send out your email?
In order not to get discouraged and also have plenty of useful things to send out to your subscribers once weekly maybe TOO much when you’re starting out – I am finding that I am repeating the same stuff!
I having been sending mine out once a week but I think I will drop this down to twice a month and make sure it’s full of great useful information.
Also, don’t forget to make your emails branded to your website, for instance, use the same fonts and colors.
This will make your brand become cohesive for your audience.
And maybe add an image or two it makes the emails less like a bunch of text to wade through for your reader.

Types of emails to send to your subscribers:
THE BOMB EMAIL
Create a value-packed email that would be a blog post of sorts giving your list exclusive content.
You will want to include a personal story maybe even add in details of why you are writing the information to your subscribers.
Make sure it’s got tons of value for your readers!
Lots of links to resources etc they can use for instance.
You also want them to take action so answering questions for instance- what can you do for them?
SEND YOUR FULL BLOG POST
Instead of sending your readers the link send them the blog post how about a shorter version of what you are going to publish before you publish it?
Like a sneak peek?
Give them some more insights in the post than what you would add to the one getting published perhaps – ALWAYS give value.
RECYCLE YOUR POPULAR CONTENT
Change the format of your most popular content perhaps an audio version of your blog post?
Consider an upgrade on the post rehash it so that you can send them more value than what is published.
What do I mean- well take my 8 bloggers income reports post
You can read it
Income reports: how 8 bloggers made money in their FIRST month blogging
I could update this for my list and add where are they now also this could be a content upgrade on the post itself to get people to opt-in.
Well watch this space – I may just have to do it!
OFFER A FREE CONSULTATION
This sounds scary, doesn’t it!
You would want to set the boundaries first of all so that it doesn’t take up too much time
- Limits numbers and set expectations
- Limit time
- Explain the benefit from the consultation you will be able to…. Once we have done it
- Make them apply for the offer by answering questions – helps to get an insight into your audience and pick who you want to work with too
It’s always about engaging your audience – asking them questions starting conversations.
Helps you to figure out their biggest challenges too and be able to write content for them.
THE SNEAK PEEK EMAIL
If you are writing the mother of all blog posts, for instance, the ULTIMATE blog post on say sending out emails to your list for example then consider adding a sneak preview of the post to your email list.
Just like Hollywood have a trailer of your blog post especially for your email list with extras that you can combine and offer as a content upgrade to the end of your blog post maybe.
RESEND YOUR UNOPENED EMAIL AGAIN
You can resend your previous email as chances are it will get opened this time round
HOW CAN YOU HELP EMAIL
Consider sending out an email that has questions for your subscribers – how you can help them.
So what are you currently stuck doing?
What do you want a blog post about?
What would you like to see in the emails?
FREEBIES AND DISCOUNTS
Send you list information on freebies – worksheets Cheat Sheets Ebooks or any discount coupons that you find that would benefit your audience.
This is good to include with your main email.
BEHIND THE SCENES EMAIL
Take your audience behind the scenes of your business/ blog given them a glimpse into what you do.
INCOME REPORTS
Provide exclusive access to your income reports for your audience.
These can provide your audience with a tonne of value on how you achieved your target income and the steps you took to get there.
Plus who doesn’t like a good income report.
TRAFFIC GENERATION
I have sent something like this to my list without even realising it was a THING To do!
I managed to double my traffic in April so if you want to find out how you would need to subscribe to my list.
Discuss how you have managed to increase traffic to your site.
What strategies you used to do it.
UPDATE ON NEW PRODUCTS OR BUSINESS NEWS
Give your subscribers any updates on you and your business- anything new you have coming out for instance
LIST EMAIL/ CURATED CONTENT EMAIL
List of your top resources or websites that would be useful for them to look at for different types of problems.
Or top post compilations.
INTERVIEW EMAIL
Add in an email with a fellow blogger. And make the subject useful to your email list.
- That being useful thing again!
HOW YOU MESSED UP EMAIL
Send out an email talking about your mistakes or failures.
This is a great way to share with your audience that you too make mistakes and how they can learn from your mistake.
For example last week I send an email to my list on how my website crashed because of one of my plugins and what I had to do about it!
Whilst not a true messed up email – it is about failure of my website maybe not necessarily due to what I did directly but still gives people an insight if it happens to them and what they can do about it.
HOW TO EMAIL
Discuss how to do something that your list is interested in.
For example how to crochet a certain stitch like a popcorn.
